We specialize in insurance, pre-purchase, and damage surveying. Our sole purpose as a company is to provide insurance underwriters, lending institutions and yacht owners with accurate and comprehensive condition reports, and to assist in determining realistic values based upon current market rates.

We have the capability of serving our clients in a timely fashion at competitive rates. We are available and willing to travel anywhere in the Caribbean to provide professional services to underwriters and individuals, should the need arise.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

International Marine Surveyors is based in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, which serves as a major port of call for most privately owned Atlantic and Caribbean based yachts. We have been licensed to operate in St. Thomas since 1991 and in Tortola, BVI since 1996.

Our surveys are accepted by all major underwriters including Cigna, la Reunion Francais and Lloyd's of London. We have produced reports for Key Bank of Albany and Maine. We have provided reports for other major lending institutions and the US Government. Our reports are readable and quite thorough in their content. We have worked to maintain a high standard of excellence and integrity in all of our reporting. Our evaluations are based upon market conditions and current industry trends as provided to us through BUC, NADA and the Internet.

The company has been a member of American Boat and Yacht Council since 1992 and uses their Standards and Recommended Practices manual as a basis for all survey recommendations.

ABOUT STEPHEN BAJOR, PRESIDENT

Stephen Bajor has been engaged in the Caribbean marine industry as a full time professional since 1983. He is an active member of The Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS) and has attained the Accredited Marine Surveyor status. His past experience includes management of charter fleets both power and sail.

After several storms lashed through the area, he recognized the need for competent and qualified surveyors to provide essential information and realistic repair evaluations for and on behalf of underwriters and private owners.
